Byron Bay Architecture

This contemporary beach house is typical of the Byron Bay region. Nestled beside a riverside nature reserve, it celebrates a communion of nature and spirit. It is open to the morning rays of light and the cooling afternoon breezes and gently blurs the line between inside and out.

The interior spaces pivot around the central atrium in response to the sites' topography and views to the adjacent river. The central area also contains a stone staircase providing thermal mass to regulate the internal temperature as well as high level louvre windows to expel warm air.

This responsive design also features solar hot water, a grid interactive solar electric system, water tanks and extensive outdoor entertainment areas to take advantage of the idyllic climate.
